Closed Friday, Dec 22nd and reopening Wed. Dec 27th for the Christmas Holiday and closing at Noon on Friday, Dec 29th and reopening on Tues. Jan 2nd for the New Year Holiday

Christmas Pageant & Children's Choir at 4:00pm Hall Mass (choir at 3:40)
Children (ages 4 and up) are needed for the pageant to be sheep, shepherds, wise men, Angels, etc. Costumes are provided.  Children (1st grade and older) are needed to perform in the choir. Yes, they can do both! Please contact Rob Baranoski at 410-802-3866 or rbaranoski@ssschool.org

Our Lady of Families Rosary Guild
Meets on the first Saturday of the month, 9-10am, Youth Ministry Office, all are welcome! The date in December is the 2nd! 

Christmas Bazaar
December 2nd from 9am - 5pm in the Hall. Join us for food, vendors, crafters, raffles and games of chance. Have your nativity picture taken in costumes! Christmas Tree & Wreath Sales 8am - 5pm,  Enjoy St. Stephen’s famous fried dough & pit beef! Click here for flyer! 

Moms’ Ministry Advent Tea
On Sunday, December 3rd from 1:30 pm-3:30pm take a break from the hustle & bustle of the season. Join us for a quiet afternoon tea and light lunch with desserts, good conversation, and seasonal themed activities in the Portable Library. Click here for flyer!

Breakfast with Santa
December 9th from 9-11:30am in the Hall. Tickets are $8.00 Children under three are free ***Tickets will NOT be available at the door*** Performing school chorus members and faculty will receive a complimentary ticket. Please let us know if you are attending and don’t forget to buy tickets for family members!

Winter Coat & Blanket drive with our Sister Parish, St. Benedict! 
This year we are again teaming up with St. Benedict to provide needed items for families in their community.  NEW blankets that will fit a double-bed, along with GENTLY USED coats of any size/age are needed.  Please leave these items in UNTIED bags on the parish center porch between now and Dec 10. As always, thank you for your generosity!

Moms Ministry 
Is reading and discussing the book 'Those Who Saw Her: Apparitions of Mary' by Catherine M. Odell.  We are continuing to have meetings on the 2nd and 4th Mondays each month.  Upcoming gatherings in the Youth & Young Adult Ministry Office: December 11(No 4th Monday meeting in December due to Christmas).  If you have not had a chance to join us before, please feel welcome to drop in at anytime!  Need more info, contact Mrs. Liz Pippin at greenpup83@hotmail.com

Jesus in the Midst of it All
In the midst of all your Christmas preparations, take time to remember and reflect on the true meaning of the season. Join us for an evening of reflection on "Jesus in the Midst of it All". Tuesday, December 12th, 7 PM in the convent. 

Advent Angel Gifts due by 12/17 at Noon (or sooner!) 
Please affix angels to your wrapped gift and leave it under the Advent wreath in Church at any Mass between now and Noon on Dec 17. (After Mass, gifts can be placed in the Church basement to make room for the next Mass).  Thanks to your generosity, many LOCAL families will enjoy a special Christmas.

St. Stephen Concert Series presents “From Heav'n on High”
Joyful classical Christmas music followed by tree-lighting and light reception in Youth Ministry Office. December 17th, 5pm in the church. Tickets are not required, a free-will offering is appreciated.  Click here for flyer!

Looking to do some service?

  • 12/08 Annual Advent Angel shopping night: Meet at St. Stephen at 7pm for Mass, then head out to shop for our advent angel gifts and dinner.  Bring a monetary donation for the gifts; suggestion is $20 or whatever your means allow.
  • 12/15 Annual coat delivery & sorting at St. Benedict, followed by lunch.  Meet at the parish center at 10am to load vehicles.  Lunch is on us!

Looking to do something social?  

  • 12/17 Concert & Tree-lighting at St. Stephen!  Meet at 4pm to set up, concert begins at 5pm.  After, the young adults will host a light reception in the Ministries Office and we’ll all sing carols as we light the outside tree!  Volunteer needed to coordinate the reception, please contact Kellie (info above) if you are interested.
  • 12/19 The Archdiocese is hosting a young adult Vespers service at the Basilica, followed by a cookie-swap!  Bring your cookies to the Church, and we will store them for you until the social. If you want to carpool with Kellie, please let me know, kreynolds@archbalt.org or 410-592-7294.  Leaving St. Stephen before 6pm so I can assist at the event.

Youth Ministry

Advent Adoration in Church: Join us for some quiet prayer time with Jesus:  Thursdays, through Dec 21, 6-7:30pm. (On Thurs 12/7, adoration will begin immediately following the Holy Day vigil Mass at 4pm). Reconciliation also available.

12/1 Worthy of the Call Training for youth ages 14-17, 6-7:30. Must RSVP to Mrs. Robin  stephenyouthasst@hotmail.com.  Location will be determined depending on how many sign up to attend.         

12/5 High School Advent Angel Shopping Night.  Meet at Fallston Walmart at 7pm. Please bring a permission form (found on the youth ministry page of the website) and suggested donation amount of $20 (or whatever your means allow).  RSVP to Ms. Charlene at charlenequesenberry@gmail.com.   

12/10 #MSYM - Middle School Youth Ministry: Youth in grades 6-8, get your permission forms in now with your choice of meeting time (9:15 or 10:45). Next event is Dec 10th!  We hope you will join us – and make a commitment to actively growing as a missionary disciple!

12/10 Parish Service Project Christmas Caroling: All youth in grades 6-12 are invited to travel to parishioner’s homes to share some of the spirit of the season with song! Please sign up by turning in a permission form by Dec 6. Meet in the Hall following 10:45 Mass, we’ll travel to homes from Noon – 1pm, then gather back at the Library until 1:30 for cocoa and sharing. We need SHIELD THE VULNERABLE Chaperones & Drivers!  Adults who wish to volunteer, please contact Kellie or Robin, 410-592-7294, stephenyouthasst@hotmail.com 

12/20 Potluck Dinner for High School youth: youth ingrades 9-12 are invited to the annual pot luck dinner. This year, there will also be time for reconciliation in the Church.  Meet in the Library from 6-8pm.  Please RSVP on the sign up genius: “High School Advent Pot Luck 12/20/17”

Reserving for 1/19/18 Youth Rally/March for Life NOW: Tickets are extremely limited this year. If you are a high school student and would like to attend on Friday, Jan 19, 2018 – please contact the Youth & Young Adult Ministry office.  We will put in a request for tickets, tickets are NOT guaranteed.  Travel to and from the event will most likely be via train and metro. More details to follow.

Faith Formation

High School Small Group will meet the following dates: Dec 5* & 12 in the Art Room, 2nd floor of school, 7-8pm. All High School students are welcome!

*Advent Angel Shopping Night: High Schoolers are invited to shop for Advent Angels on Tuesday, Dec 5th. Permission Forms and Information can be found on the Youth Ministry page of the website. Meet at Walmart in Fallston, not at St. Stephen. ALL High School students are welcome to attend!

Confirmation

Confirmation 2018 Small Group Sessions: Past Due: Choose your preferred meeting day, Sunday or Tuesday, ASAP so we can arrange catechists and meeting spaces.  Spaces will be limited.  See Sign Up Genius: “Confirmation Small Groups 2017-2018”

1/6 & 1/7 Confirmation Enrollment Weekend: please choose a Mass time to attend with your sponsor & family.  Sponsors & candidates will have reserved seating in the front.  If you sponsor cannot attend, please ask a parent or other family member to sit with you.  Choose your mass time online at the Sign Up Genius:  “Confirmation 2018 Enrollment Mass”    

Confirmation Reservation Forms were mailed home in November and are due no later than January 7th.  Reservations for Mass & retreat times are taken on a first-come basis. Forms must be mailed, no reservations taken over phone or email.
