EVENTS & NOTICES FOR YOUNG ADUTS:

  • Help Wanted: A young adult volunteer who uses/posts to social media daily. Looking for someone to help relay our activities to others. Please email Kellie if interested kreynolds@archbalt.org

 

  • Camp GLOW Companions - there is a need for companions (age 18 and older) at Camp GLOW, a week-long residential camp for persons with disabilities sponsored by the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Companions spend the week accompanying camp participants as they enjoy a wonderful week of spiritual fulfillment and social interaction.

  • World Youth Day Unite! July 22 in Washington DC.  Register at https://www.wydunite.com/ This event is open to all young adults age 18-39, you need not have attended any prior World Youth Day events to participate!

The Archdiocese is looking to travel by bus or carpool. If you register to attend and are interested in sharing transportation or paying for a spot on a bus, please contact Kellie Reynolds kreynolds@archbalt.org

 

  • Catholic Artist’s Society forming at St. Stephen: Young Adult artists, please consider coming to an informational/informal gathering in July 20th in the Learning Cottage from 7-8:30pm to discuss ideas for sharing art and supporting the arts at St. Stephen!  Contact John Terebetsky, jterebetsky@hotmail.com if interested.   • Saturday, Sept 2  CRS & the Orioles team up to fight hunger!

After a great event last year, Catholic Relief Services and the Baltimore Orioles are partnering again in the fight against hunger with the 25,000 Meal Challenge. This challenge also celebrates the 25th anniversary of Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Help us raise enough money to send 25,000 meals to the hungry women, men and children of Burkina Faso, West Africa. Join us for our spirited meal-packaging event featuring Orioles Hall of Famer Mike Bordick and the Oriole Bird. Any team that raises $500 will receive 10 free tickets for the Orioles’ September 6th game against the New York Yankees, and 2 more tickets will be provided for each additional $100 raised.   • Saturday, Sept 9  Little Sisters of the Poor 4th Annual “Nun Run”

Cathedral of Mary Our Queen, 5200 N. Charles Street! Start time for the 5K and 1 mile run/walk is 8:00 am. AWARDS:       1) Top three runners and top runners in age brackets (male and female).  2) “Parish Pride” trophy for the parish with most registered runners/walkers.  3) “Flying Nun” trophy for the school with most registered runners/walkers.  4) “Blisters for Sisters” award for the team with overall best time. 

Enjoy music by DJ Ray, a pre-race warm-up with Roxana of Brick Bodies, entertainment by Bobalouie the Clown, raffles and refreshments.

The Queen of Families Rosary Guild usually meets the first Sat of the month (Sept - June) from 9 AM to 10 AM in the Portable Library Learning Cottage on the St. Stephen School lot. Please consider joining the rosary guild ministry to pray, make rosaries for our church as well as missions throughout the world and spread devotion to Our Lady! For additional information, please contact Mary Bauer at 443-456-3498.  Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us!  

Young Adult Monthly Service Project – First Sundayof the month We are looking for volunteers!  Join us at the East Side Family Shelter in Rosedale once a  month to cook & serve a meal. Each volunteer helps provide groceries.  Have a day of the month in mind? Contact Kellie for details kreynolds@archbalt.org

Coupons in Flight: Usually meets on the first Sunday of the month (Oct - May) at 9:15 in the Art Room, located on the 2nd floor of the school.  Bring your coupons or help clip those that were donated.  Coupons expired up to 3 months still accepted.  Most needed items are baby products, food, personal care. All coupons will be donated to miliatry families stationed in bases overseas. Thanks for your support!

ODB Casseroles: You can easily support the ongoing ministry of Our Daily Bread by making and freezing a casserole at home. The recipe can be found online, or you can pick up a pan and recipe in the back of the Church or Hall.  Did you know ODB serves over 800 meals 365 days a year?  Thanks for supporting this ministry!

  • Wednesday Night Charismatic Prayer Group: All are welcome to the Prayer group which meets at 7:30 in the Church basement. Strengthen your personal walk with Jesus!

 

  • Eucharistic Adoration in the Convent chapel – will resume in September. During the summer months you can visit the perpetual adoration chapel at Immaculate Conception in Towson.
